Meet Our Alumni

At Karen’s School of Fashion, we couldn’t be more proud of our alumni. Once a student graduates from KSOF, they are connected for life and gain immediate access to exclusive graduate services and a network of more than 300 fellow alumni who share a strong passion for fashion. Samantha Meng
Showroom/Sales Intern at Anna Sui

I started at KSOF when I was 16 and a sophomore in high school. Attending Karen’s classes was my first introduction to fashion, and I immediately fell in love with it. I am currently a junior at Rutgers University, a Style Guru for College Fashionista, and a showroom/sales intern at Anna Sui. I hope to pursue a career in the corporate fashion indstury, and the skills and knowledge I’ve gained both as a student and as an intern/personal assistant for Karen have been priceless. It has been an honor to watch her business grow throughout the years, and I’ll never forget my amazing experience with KSOF.

Brooke Kaplan
Intern/Student

I began taking classes at KSOF when I was in 7th grade, and I am so grateful for everything I have learned in the 6 years I have been a part of the school. I have been interested in fashion since I was 7 years old, when I would make dresses for my dolls out of duct tape and book covers. Karen helped me turn my childhood dream into a reality, and I am now attending Philadelphia University as a fashion design major. I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for Karen’s guidance and support, and it has been an honor working with her as both a student and an intern.

Stephanie Wachtel
Assistant Designer at Tahari, ASL

I started with Karen at KSOF when I was a sophomore in high school. I had taken other sewing classes, but nothing was like learning from Karen. She always took the time to show and explain things to me so I could sew independently. I even made my prom dress which was such an amazing accomplishment. I then attended Parson School of Design in NYC and I graduated in May, 2017. The knowledge and the skills that I learned from Karen were priceless. If it wasn’t for Karen and KSOF, I don’t believe that I would have been as successful in my fashion design classes as I was. I have always dreamed about be a fashion designer and I am happy to tell you that I am currently working at Tahari, ASL as an assistant fashion designer. Thank you Karen for guiding me and always believing in me!

Chelsea Beth
Fashion Design Student At Syracuse University / Intern at KSOF

I started taking classes at KSOF my freshman year of high school and immediately fell in love with fashion design. Over the course of 4 years, I have learned so much from Karen and have taken those skills with me to Syracuse University, where I am majoring in fashion design. Throughout the 4 years of being a student at KSOF, I became an intern for Karen and through Karen’s introduction, I got an interview at Primark and got the position  visual merchandising. Karen has given me wonderful opportunities and I thank her for all of her love and support along the way.

Lynsay D’Eridita
Intern/Student

Karen has been a part of my life since I was eight, when I started taking classes. Ten years later, she not only has taught me so much about fashion but about life. She would never let me give up and always encouraged me to be the best and most creative that I can be. The amazing internship program has let me experience things I would never get at any other fashion school, from NYC trips at MOOD to meeting famous designers. After ten years of learning, I am excited to continue my future in event management and hopefully one day organize and oversee a designer fashion show! There is no other place I would have rather grew up at. At KSOF I have made friends who feel like family, students who feel like friends and memories that will last a lifetime.
